Slenderman's Shadow is the name for a series of maps created by Marc Steene and Wray Burgess, based on (and originally an unofficial expansion of) Slender: The Eight Pages by Parsec Productions.
The franchise brings the classic terror of the original Slender game into a variety of new maps containing expanding adventures and terrors. Initially run on donations, a total of eight maps were created before a paid full version was released.
The series' original website is no longer active, and simply fails to load altogether. Marc Steene has since reuploaded the Unity remake, completely free, on a new itch.io page. A link to the original versions can also be found in the comments.
Gameplay[]
Slenderman's Shadow is unique in that it does not contain a singular level, but instead a collection of maps with unique settings, different mechanics and objectives, and short story-plots. The original version of the franchise contained seven maps, while two additional maps were added to coincide with the remake's full release. The official list of maps, in order of release, is below;
Trivia[]
- Following the release of Sanatorium, it was stated that the following map was going to be a Pyramid-based map. This was eventually removed off of the list of planned maps, and was replaced by Hospice.
- It was claimed that Prison would be scarier and more difficult than all of the previous maps that were released. This turned out to be true, as once you collect the first photo, you have a limited amount of time to collect the other photos before Slender Man will begin teleporting rapidly and potentially catch you. In a tips and tricks video posted by Marc Steene, this time limit is said to be 130 seconds, but looking through the game's code reveals that there isn't actually a timer, but instead an

- After the Unity remake of Slenderman's Shadow was released, the download links for old map versions were deleted from the official website.
- The maps increased in quality over time, including more realistic appearances for the maps and objects, as well as Slender Man having an improved model. The introductions have also been removed for a majority of the maps in the Unity remake, except for Elementary, Mansion and Claustrophobia.
